The Fall months began with an interview on Burl Barer’s radio show, True Crime Uncensored Live, “The best true crime radio program on the air”! I shared many of my cop stories with Burl and his listeners. You can check out the program at OutlawCrime.
The radio show interviewwas followed by several book signing events and I was honored to be the first author of the month for the launch of a new book club here in Las Vegas called Local Reads. Linda and Rochelle hosted the book club at their business, Nutrition NV, where I met a wonderful group of women that were touched by my story.
In September, 2012 I was invited to be on a panel for the Crime Story 101 Writer’s Conference with fellow author, Cathy Scott. Cathy and I met on a crime scene while I was a lieutenant on the police department force and she was an investigative journalist for a local newspaper. She later courageously covered my story when I was going through my trial about the police department and exposed the corruption. Here we are now, fellow authors, who have lived through the adversity and are now sharing our stories. Cathy writes true crime and has authored several books including, The Millionaire’s Wife and The Killing of Tupak Shakur.
In October, 2012 I was invited to the Criminal Justice Job Fair with fellow authors, Steve Scarborough and Marja McGraw. Steve worked CSI for the police department when I was working in patrol.
We wrapped up the Fall with book signing events at Barnes & Noble and the Metro K-9 Trials at a local hotel.
